An eastern Balkan species consisting of four subspecies spread in Greece, Bulgaria, european Turkey and southern Romania (seemingly mainly in the forest-steppe area); this subspecies is spread only in southern Romania and northern Bulgaria

The pictures below were taken in our garden from Floresti, Cluj county on plants obtained from seeds collected in the clearings of Babadag forest in august 2001. They insist only on anthodia of the species. We're sorry for not being able to provide yet the habit and the leaves of this tall and beautiful species among other Acrolophus.
